Marcia Banes is a Marketing and Networking Specialist with more than twelve years experience working in Savannah's Hospitality and Tourism Industry. In 2009, Marcia moved to Costa Rica, to own and operate a Hotel and Restaurant on the Pacific Coast. During her tenure, Marcia worked closely with the Costa Rican Tourism Board to help develop the first Tourism Chamber in the region. After returning to Savannah in 2011, Marcia continued her career in hospitality holding a variety management positions before accepting a job with Old Savannah Tours in 2016 as a brand ambassador.
Marcia currently serves as the 2017 Vice President of the Buy Local Savannah Organization and actively works to plan, promote and execute numerous events and fundraisers. She has received the Tourism Leadership Council's Member of the Year award and most recently received recognition as a Community Star through Savannah Technical College. Her most recent and proudest achievement to date is winning the The Original Lip Sync Battle Savannah Fundraiser which raised more than $6000 for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in its first year.
